An international production, Portuguese Love brings together leading stars from Turkey and Portugal in a single project. The film stars Cansu Dere, one of Turkey’s most acclaimed actors, renowned for her powerful performances and extensive global fan base. She is joined by Portuguese Hollywood star Diogo Morgado. The cast also features esteemed actors Şerif Sezer, İsmail Demirci, Catarina Avelar, and Rodrigo Soares. Written by Murat Boyacıoğlu and directed by İsmail Şahin, Portuguese Love holds the distinction of being the first official co-production between Turkey and Portugal.

The film represents a key milestone in Diopter Film’s strategy to expand its production capabilities beyond Turkey and onto a global stage. Positioned as one of the year’s most ambitious productions, filming took place in Portugal and Turkey during the final months of 2025. In addition to its release in Turkey, Portuguese Love will reach audiences across Portuguese-speaking territories, providing direct access to the 200-million-strong Latin American market.
